Some people might think the location is slightly off the beaten track – somewhat of a detour – but definitely worth the journey. Behind the picturesque exteriors of the inn you will find a contemporary high quality interior setting – with a gourmet restaurant in the international high-end.

A new era
Since 1790 Henne Kirkeby Kro has been the neighbour of the village church close to the North Sea. The inn – today owned by Fænø Estate in the hands of the Skouboe family – has been fully renovated from top to bottom with a contemporary approach to interior design and works of art.

From 2010, the neighbouring heath farm has also formed part of Henne Kirkeby Kro. With breakfast restaurant, conference room and three new bedrooms.

Also the kitchen has entered a new era. This is where our chefs live out their ambitious dreams developing gourmet menus respecting the history, soul and spirit of this place.

Fresh and pure
The closeness to the North Sea makes our vegetables grow a little bit slower, which adds a little bit more flavour.

Throughout  Henne Kirkeby Kro's two centuries long history the gardens have been providing the kitchen with vegetables, berries, root vegetables and herbs.  Even to this day, the gardens play an important role, and for this reason we are constantly expanding and improving the design of the gardens. Among others with landscape architect Jens Hendeliowitz, who has also been in charge of the renovation of a number of Danish palace gardens.
