The NYC-based tiny home company Klein, founded in 2017 by designer Soren Rose, today announced their tiny home concept
enlisting award-winning architects globally to re-think small dwellings, starting with the 180 sqft A45 Nordic Edition. Designed by the
NYC, London and Copenhagen based architects BIG, the first A45 prototype is constructed in upstate New York and will be
customizable inside and out. Future home-owners can purchase, tailor and have the house built within 4-6 months in any location
for any purpose, from weekend getaways to a guestroom or a music studio to a creative retreat.

“The possibility of owning a small getaway retreat that is designed with the utmost care for living quality and built with the highest
standard of craftsmanship is what Klein is all about. The idea is to offer a variety of tiny homes designed by some of the world’s
leading architects, starting with BIG.” Soren Rose, Founding Partner, Klein.

BIG’s design evolves from the traditional A-frame cabin, known for its pitched roof and angled walls which allow for easy rain run-off
and simple construction. To maximize the qualities of this classic structure, A45 creates more usable floor area by rotating the classic
A-frame structure 45 degrees so the lower part of the house only touches on two corners, maximizing the wall height to 13 ft inside.
A45 becomes a more spacious version of the original A-frame and ends up having an interesting volume - from certain angles it looks
like a cube and from other angles it looks like a spire.

“Often weekend getaways become so extensive that we end up ruining the nature that attracted us in the first place - wilderness
becomes subdivisions, scenery turns into sprawl. With Klein we wanted to create a rural outpost with the smallest possible footprint
for maximum immersion into the wild” Bjarke Ingels, Founding Partner, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group.

Upon entering A45, the 180 sqft interior space reflects a minimal Nordic abode prioritized for ‘hyggelig’ comfort and design. From
the exposed timber frame in solid pine, the Dinesen Douglas Fir floor and customizable space-grade, insulating natural cork walls,
A45 brings nature inside. A fireplace is nestled in one corner while off-the-grid equipment is tucked away in the back. Klein teamed
with a vast network of partners in order to understand and implement the aspects of automation, water consumption, solar power
and batteries to ensure a fully reliable and self-powered home.

A petite kitchen designed by Københavns Møbelsnedkeri, the elegant Morsøe wood-burning fireplace, hand-crafted furniture from
Carl Hansen and a bed fitted with Kvadrat fabric designed by Soren Rose Studio are some of the handcrafted Nordic furniture to
adorn A45. The bathroom is made of cedar wood with fixtures by VOLA.
Images by Matthew Carbone A45 is built entirely on site (is handcrafted of site and assembled in modules on site) and consists of 100% recyclable materials
including the timber frame, wall modules, a subfloor and the triangular floor-to-ceiling window featuring seven glass pieces that
allow natural daylight to illuminate the interiors. The structure is slightly elevated by four concrete piers to give optimal support and
allow homeowners to place their tiny house in even the most remote areas without the use of heavy machinery.

Depending on the landscape and climate conditions, most of the exterior and interior can be tailored. A45 can blend into the woods
with a beautiful burnt pine or natural cedar finish supplied by the most high-quality, sustainable wood manufacturer Dinesen.
